About this camp

Join beloved LS Theater teacher Cherie Gallian in the adventure of a (summer) lifetime! Get ready to create, rehearse, and then perform an entire 15-20-minute play based on abridged versions of a selected classic tale (but with a playful, melodramatic, and often outrageous twist)! Working with the “Playing with Plays” scripts by Brandon Kelso, who’s genius approach makes Shakespeare and other timeless works both accessible and fun, student actors (Class III-VI) will embrace those butterflies and learn to bring their boundless creativity to life on stage. Join us for an unforgettable week of imagination, laughter, and true theater magic!

Stained Glass Camp VI-IX

Students become artisans at Stained Glass Camp this summer! Join Waterford’s art faculty for a rare invitation to the stunning world of stained glass design and creation. The camp will introduce students to the basics of glass art through hands-on projects like suncatchers and mosaics, using a wide variety of pre-selected glass pieces. Explore and discuss architecture’s most beautiful and intricate stained glass windows, then design your very own rendition in the classroom! Student artisans will develop a deeper, practical understanding of color theory, geometric design, and artistic collaboration. Come join us in the gallery glow this summer!

Sewing Camp II-VIII

Calling all sewers! Waterford’s ever-popular school year club becomes your favorite camp this summer! Join us for a fun, engaging week of sewing basics and mastery. Sew at your own pace in a relaxing, collaborative environment, with all materials and instruction provided. Challenge your craft with advanced patterns, develop your design with teacher-guided goals, and of course, chat with your friends while you sew away the best week of your whole summer!

MS Drawn From History VI-VIII

Drawn From History: Make History Graphic is a hands-on, half-day camp where students turn real historical events into engaging, funny, and informative graphic stories inspired by the style of artist Nathan Hale. Campers will learn how to research, plan, write, and illustrate a short nonfiction comic using panels, dialogue, and visual storytelling. By the end of the week, each student will have created a complete mini graphic novel to share and take home. Note: this innovative new camp is offered to current and incoming Middle School students only.
