About this camp
This course will explore the creation of handmade books as a method of display for artworks. Students will explore different binding techniques and construction methods, culminating in a small artist book of their own design and creation. Students will view handmade books of a variety of types, explore experimental techniques in bookmaking, and learn how the form of the book has developed and shaped the history of expression. A background in photography is useful, but not necessary. Taking this class in the summer will fulfill one of a student’s graduation requirements in visual arts.
